Experience

Jo has continually specialised in children and families work beginning her career in 1995 as a Family Centre Worker, working in various family centres in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. In this role Jo developed excellent parenting assessment skills and a sound knowledge of child protection.

 

In 1999 Jo graduated from the University of Derby and her social work career to date as been in front line child protection work, where she enjoys the challenges and the satisfying job of ensuring good outcomes for children and protecting children from risks of significant harm.

 

Jo prides herself in being child-centred and providing others with a good role model of practice. She is highly experienced in supervising newly qualified social workers and mentoring of staff members, in order to promote good standards of practice and assisting in the retention of social care professionals.

 

Jo has gained invaluable years of experience in all aspects of children and families provision from point of referral through to adoption casework.

 

Qualifications:

 

• BA (Hons) in Applied Social Work

• Diploma in Applied Social Work

• Post Graduate Certificate in Inter-professional

• Practice and Education (PQ)

• Qualified Practice Learning Assessor

• National Diploma in Nursery Nursing

• Member of BASW

• Registered with General Social Care Council
